Benefits of partnership

The Canadian Scientific Submersible Facility (CSSF) operates ROPOS, the Remotely Operated Platform for Ocean Science. This world-class submersible and crew are instrumental for all of our mapping, installation and maintenance activities at sea. In 2009, ROPOS supported Alcatel Submarine Networks during the node deployment phase of our installations. Then, ROPOS supported our first major deployment of instruments at our Folger Passage, Barkley Canyon, ODP 889 and ODP 1027 locations. In 2010, CSSF supported equipment maintenance and installations at all our sites, including major installation activities at our Endeavour location.
