In this Science Byte presentation, University of Victoria geophysicist George Spence describes the roles of faulting and gas hydrates in deep-sea landslides off Vancouver Island. Spence studies plate tectonics and processes at convergent margins, largely at the Cascadia margin off Vancouver Island and, to a lesser extent, off Japan and Ecuador.
