Biography

Jonathan Zand

Systems Integration Engineer

Jonathan provides engineering technical support in the design and planning for the maintenance and expansion of the observatory. He graduated from UBC Mechanical Engineering with a Bachelor of Applied Science in 2005. Jonathan then went on to complete a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering at UVic in 2009. His graduate research focused on navigation and tether management of inspection class Remotely Operated Vehicles. Jonathan worked with underwater lights, cameras, and navigation instrumentation while serving on SubOceanic Science Canada's ROV crew for 3 years, and visited coastal waters throughout North America for Falcon ROV deployments.
